Gender bends are fun. Only swapping 2 character's genders and acting like it's normal is even funner.

Staying in character, i'd imagine that Simon would be a really shy girl as a kid, but try and act manlier under influence of kamina as she would grow up. This makes wearing Feminine outfits increadibly embarassing.
